G3S2 is registered as a 501c.3 non-profit.  We are incorporated in this manner for two very specific, ethical reasons.

1.  Given the nature of those we serve…many of them working in conflict and disaster zones, we felt it would be contrary to our values and culture to be perceived as profiting from the devastation of others.  Economic enterprise and business are vital components for societies to “develop”  and sustain themselves in a global context.  However, “war profiteering” and “disaster capitalism” are very real and very lucrative industries.  This is not who we are.  We feel it important to prove this through the legal structure with which we operate.  The laws around our incorporation prevent profit sharing.  Our employees get paid a flat salary – the rest of the funds we generate are re-invested into meeting your needs and the needs of humanitarians working for the greater good.

2.  Because of the acute nature of many of the needs we address – some life and death, we don’t want you, your friends and loved ones, or employers to ever wonder….if it came down to making a choice between your best interest (no matter the cost) or our bottom line: G3S2 will always side with you.  Money comes and goes – human lives cannot be replaced.  We have no shareholders to answer to.  We maintain a financially sustainable business model but at the end of the day we can work with you to find a donor to cover the costs of meeting an acute need in a time of crisis, should decisions ever reach that threshold.
