Training

"What we learned with G3S2 is what we thought we'd learn in college."

Summer 2005 Resident

G3S2 is committed to a mentoring, hands-on approach to learning. Some would describe G3S2 training as "Everything 101" regarding internationally aware, globally engaged greater good work. The breadth of subjects any cross-cultural greater good worker can, and often does, encounter is staggering. G3S2 doesn't pretend to even attempt to make people experts at everything. However, by introducing subjects in context can make a huge difference in how successful one might ultimately be in this diverse rapidly changing world.

G3S2's primary approach to training is one that requires individuals to live and work with G3S2 personnel fulltime for a block of time... commitments ranging from a couple of months to over a year. G3S2 offers the following training opportunities...

  • Spring (5 months)
  • Spring Advantage (7 months, including 2 months in-the-field)
  • Summer (2 months)
  • Fall (5 months)
  • Fall Advantage (7 months, including 2 months in-the-field) and
  • a 10 month certification program.

Special custom training events are also available. These customized training sessions can be a half day up to multiple days, and they are always constructed to match the needs of the clients.
