Guest Speaker Funding

Funding to ensure G3S2 is able to compensate/reimburse visiting expert speakers.

A key part G3S2’s training revolves around expert guests visiting G3S2. Interns, volunteers and full-time personnel all benefit from the wide variety of training historically provided through such guest speakers. Offering to provide reimbursement for travel expenses and a honorarium will help ensure that G3S2’s favorite speakers are able to return periodically without it becoming a burden.

G3S2 would like to offer each speaker reimbursement for their travel expenses as well as $200/day for their time. We appreciate that this amount is typically way too low to match the actual market value of those we often attract. In many cases, the funding is donated back to G3S2. Nevertheless, G3S2 feels that it is important to offer this to speakers.

In the past, G3S2 speakers have included international workers from around the globe discussing subjects as diverse as… water purification, Internet SPAM, working in Iran, Chinese business culture, tsunami relief work, running logistical support in Afghanistan, developing small cottage industry in Indonesia, Internationalization/Globalization trends and how to provide better tech support over the phones. Each speaker put their subject in a larger greater good and international context.
